Debian has made a decision to permit its contributors to utilise artificial intelligence (AI) in their coding work. This move allows for the integration of AI tools into the development process for the open-source operating system.
While contributors are now allowed to use AI, the disclosure of its use is optional. However, the quality of the code produced remains a mandatory requirement.
