Declan McKenna has announced a series of "live and intimate" UK warm-up shows this month, ahead of his appearances at Reading & Leeds 2026. These will be his first headline dates in the UK in two years.

The singer-songwriter is set to play four small gigs at grassroots venues in Scotland and England. The brief tour begins at An Seòmar in Inverness on August 20, followed by dates at Dundee’s Music Hall, Stockton-on-Tees’ Georgian Theatre, and Stoke’s Sugarmill.

McKenna expressed his excitement, stating the shows would be "loud, live and intimate," and would include some places he has not visited before. He added, "This one’s gonna be electric!"

Following these warm-up performances, McKenna is scheduled to play at Reading Festival on Friday, August 28, and Leeds Festival on Saturday, August 29. His slots will be on the newly-revamped main stage, now known as 'The Grid'.

Tickets for the intimate UK tour go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday. McKenna released his latest album, 'What Happened To The Beach?', in 2024 and is reportedly working on new music.
