Nicola's mother, Marilyn, who passed away in 2023, spoke of her enduring pain in footage broadcast over the years, stating in 2001 that time had not healed her grief. Last year, Nicola's brother, Nigel, announced the closure of social media pages used to seek information, citing the family's need to move on.
