Everton secure Grealish loan, Zirkzee stays at Man Utd

Everton have signed Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City, but their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee has ended with the striker remaining at Manchester United.

  • Jack Grealish has joined Everton on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
  • Joshua Zirkzee will remain at Manchester United despite Everton's interest.
  • Everton are also hopeful of signing Folarin Balogun and have agreed a deal for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Everton have confirmed the season-long loan signing of Jack Grealish from Manchester City. This marks Grealish's second consecutive loan spell with the Toffees, after making 20 appearances last season before a foot injury.

The 30-year-old England international expressed his appreciation for the club, stating he feels "loved" by the manager, teammates, and fans. Grealish previously scored twice and provided six assists for Everton, earning the Premier League Player of the Month award for August during his prior loan.

However, Everton's efforts to sign Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee have been unsuccessful, with the 25-year-old set to stay at Old Trafford. This follows earlier targets Tammy Abraham opting to remain at Aston Villa and Beto moving to Fiorentina.

The club remains hopeful of adding Monaco striker Folarin Balogun, 25, to their squad, despite a reported issue with his medical on deadline day after a £40m deal was agreed. Everton have also agreed a £3m deal to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles, 29, from Lyon, while Nathan Patterson has completed a permanent move to Torino.
