Nathan Gill, the former leader of Reform UK in Wales, has been ordered to pay over £22,500 after accepting bribes to deliver pro-Russian speeches in the European Parliament. Gill, 53, was sentenced to ten-and-a-half years in prison in November 2025 after pleading guilty to eight counts of bribery.
At the Old Bailey on Thursday, Gill was given six months to sell a rental property to pay £22,592.41 to the UK government. Failure to do so will result in an additional nine months in prison. Gill did not appear at the hearing, where the sum was agreed between the parties.
While a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2014 to 2020, Gill accepted money from Oleg Voloshyn, who was reportedly acting on behalf of Viktor Medvedchuk, a pro-Russian Ukrainian politician. In return for the payments, Gill gave speeches in the European Parliament and interviews to a now-closed pro-Russian TV channel in Ukraine.
