A Rwandan man, identified as Dr Vincent Brown, 65, who previously used the name Dr Vincent Bajinya, has been charged in the UK with offences relating to the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Dr Brown, who has been residing in north London, faces one charge of conduct ancillary to genocide and six charges of conduct ancillary to murder as a crime against humanity.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that these are the first charges brought in the UK concerning the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Dr Brown is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
