The Great British Bake Off has unveiled its line-up for the 2026 series, featuring a paediatric doctor and a drag king among the amateur bakers. The popular Channel 4 competition, now in its third week, sees contestants vying to be crowned champion.
TV cook Nigella Lawson has joined the judging panel for season 17, following Dame Prue Leith's departure after nine series. She is joined by returning judge Paul Hollywood, alongside presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond.
Among the bakers are Yannis, a 28-year-old paediatric doctor from London, and Gabe, 32, a costume designer and drag king known as Blu Romantic. Other contestants include Connie, 63, an NHS hospital discharge lead, and Clara, 24, a marketing graduate from Portugal living in Hertfordshire.
Danni, a 25-year-old service centre administrator, was the first baker eliminated during biscuit week. Shannon, 29, a project planner and scheduler, was eliminated in the inaugural audience choice week.
