Jimmie Vaughan Joins Bob Dylan's Band for US Tour Finale

Bob Dylan concluded the US leg of his 2026 'Rough And Rowdy Ways' tour with Jimmie Vaughan joining his live band.

  • Jimmie Vaughan performed with Bob Dylan's band on August 1, 2026, at the Ascend Federal Credit Union Amphitheater in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Vaughan played on 'False Prophet', 'I Can Tell', and 'Goodbye Jimmy Reed'.
  • The US tour has seen several line-up changes, including the departures of Doug Lancio and Bob Britt.

Bob Dylan's 'Rough And Rowdy Ways' US tour concluded on August 1, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee, with the addition of guitarist Jimmie Vaughan to the live band. Vaughan joined Dylan and his band five songs into the set at the Ascend Federal Credit Union Amphitheater, performing 'False Prophet' and a cover of Bo Diddley's 'I Can Tell'. He later returned to play 'Goodbye Jimmy Reed'.

The US leg of the tour has experienced several personnel changes. Guitarist Doug Lancio, who had been with Dylan's touring band since 2021, stepped back from touring duties in June. Jazz guitarist Julian Lange seemingly replaced Lancio, though a spokesperson for Dylan stated there was "no word" on his permanent status. Acoustic guitarist Bob Britt also departed the band around two weeks later, confirming on Facebook that he left of his own accord.

Due to prior commitments, Lage has not been able to play every show. Jazz and blues guitarist Joel Paterson joined the group on June 29, and R&B guitarist Jad Tariq played shows Lage could not attend. It is currently unclear which guitarists will join Dylan for the upcoming UK and European leg of the tour, which begins in Norway in October.
