Manchester City have reached an agreement with Lille for the transfer of midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The deal is reportedly worth €95m (£81.4m) plus an additional €5m in potential add-ons, bringing the total to €100m.
This significant acquisition means Manchester City's summer transfer window spending will approach £200m, following the earlier £116m signing of Elliot Anderson. The 18-year-old Moroccan international was withdrawn from Lille's Ligue 1 fixture against Angers on Sunday, ahead of a scheduled medical with City. His transfer is expected to become official in the coming days.
Bouaddi, primarily a No 6, featured in five of Morocco's six World Cup games this summer, including their quarter-final defeat to France. He previously made his debut for Lille in a Conference League group game in October 2023, becoming the youngest player in the competition at 16 years and three days old. The majority of the fee for Bouaddi is expected to be covered by the £65m sale of Rodri to Barcelona last week.
