Marli Salmon, a defender who can play at right-back or centre-back, is anticipated to be given more opportunities by Mikel Arteta this season. Last season, Salmon became the fourth-youngest player to represent Arsenal, making his debut against Club Brugge in the Champions League in December at 16 years and 102 days old.

He made four first-team appearances and also featured 14 times for the Under-21s in Premier League 2. In PL2, Salmon won an impressive 71.8% of his duels, a success rate bettered by only two other defenders who contested at least 50 duels.

Salmon has signed a pre-agreement to commit his future to Arsenal when he turns 17 later this month.
