Crystal Palace has seen a verbal bid for midfielder Lamine Camara rejected by Ligue 1 side Monaco. The offer for the 22-year-old Senegal international was reportedly worth more than £35m.

This sum would have made Camara one of the most expensive signings in Crystal Palace's history. Camara, who has made 49 appearances for his country and featured in this summer's World Cup, joined Monaco from Metz in 2024 for a reported fee of 15m euros (£12.8m).

Palace has already made four signings this summer, including striker Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa, winger Dwight McNeil from Everton, and former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer. Oscar Mingueza also joined under new manager Pierre Sage.

The Eagles are set to play their final pre-season friendly against Freiburg before beginning their Premier League season away at Everton on Saturday, 22 August.
