The original stars of the Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners are officially returning for a third film, which is being made for Netflix. Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison are all confirmed to reprise their roles as Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil.
Production for The Inbetweeners 3 is scheduled to begin today, Monday 7 September 2026. Creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, who confirmed the sitcom's return in some form in October 2025, are writing and directing the new project.
While a 2027 release date is expected, it remains unconfirmed. It is currently unknown whether the film will be released in cinemas before its addition to Netflix. Only the four lead actors have been announced so far, leaving the involvement of other cast members, such as Emily Atack, unconfirmed.
The original series, broadcast on E4 from 2008 to 2010, won a Bafta Audience Award in 2010. Two previous films, The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) and The Inbetweeners 2 (2014), together grossed over £100m worldwide.
