The Marvel blockbuster, starring Tom Holland, reached the $900 million threshold in US domestic theatres in 36 days. This new record beats the previous 50-day record held by 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
As of 7 September 2026, the Marvel-Sony project is projected to have made $22 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend, pushing its domestic total to $922 million. The film is anticipated to surpass The Force Awakens' record of $936 million to become the highest-grossing domestic release ever.
Globally, Brand New Day has now exceeded $2.33 billion, making it the third highest-grossing movie of all time. It sits behind 2009’s Avatar ($2.9 billion) and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion). The film has also surpassed 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, which made $2.3 billion globally.
Tom Holland is expected to earn more than $100 million for his role in the movie. He reportedly received $20 million upfront and could receive an additional $80 million or more in backend bonuses.
