Paul Thomas Anderson has reportedly chosen the idea for his next feature film, following his Oscar-winning 'One Battle After Another'. This information comes from his longtime collaborator and composer, Jonny Greenwood.
Greenwood, who has scored all of Anderson's films since 2007, told ScreenDaily that Anderson is "getting close to pressing the button on the next film" and has "chosen" an idea. Greenwood also stated he is "already trying to learn a new instrument that would be central to it."
While the nature of the new project remains unknown, fan speculation has focused on a potential jazz epic starring Denzel Washington. Washington previously mentioned speaking with Anderson about a collaboration in 2024, with fans suggesting a setting in LA's 1940s "Little Harlem" jazz renaissance.
Anderson, who won Best Director and Best Picture for last year's 'One Battle After Another', also recently directed 'Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall', a concert film set for release later this year.
