Jake Reiner, the eldest son of director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer-Reiner, has given his first public interview regarding the deaths of his parents. The couple were found dead in their Brentwood home in Los Angeles on December 14, 2025.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating the deaths as an "apparent homicide." Multiple reports indicated the couple had suffered knife wounds. Their younger son, Nick Reiner, was later arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, to which he pleaded not guilty in February.
Speaking to ABC7 Los Angeles, Jake Reiner described the difficulty of the past eight months. He recounted his sister Romy discovering their father's body and calling him after alerting 911. Jake stated that he immediately went into shock.
Jake Reiner chose not to discuss his brother's court case specifically, instead focusing on the broader impact of losing multiple family members. He expressed feelings of anger and rage over the unfairness of the situation, stating, "I didn't get a say in what happened. I didn't get to stop it from happening."
