Sir Kevin Sinfield, the former England rugby league captain and motor neurone disease (MND) campaigner, was among 60 individuals to receive honours from the Prince of Wales at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Sir Kevin, who has raised more than £11m for charity, received his knighthood for his services to the MND community, as well as for his contributions to league and union rugby. He stated he was "massively humbled by the whole experience" and "very proud to accept it on behalf of the MND community and their families."

He also commented that his late friend Rob Burrow, who died in 2024 after living with MND, would be "laughing" but "enormously proud" to see him receive the honour. The Prince of Wales, alongside the Princess of Wales, had previously shown support for their campaign, surprising Sir Kevin during his 7 in 7: The Grand Finale challenge last week.

Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee was also among those receiving honours at the investiture, recognised for his services to triathlon and to charity.
