The Croatian city of Split has been highlighted as the top European destination for travellers during the autumn shoulder season. This ranking, compiled by travel comparison site Omio, considered factors such as visitor numbers, historical weather data, and ease of travel.
Split experiences an 80% reduction in regional visitors across September and October compared to August. During these months, the city typically sees average high temperatures ranging from 20°C to 24°C.
Following Split, the Italian cities of Bari and Bologna were ranked second and third respectively. Corfu was the only Greek island to feature on the list, with average highs above 21°C in both shoulder-season months, while the Spanish city of Granada recorded average highs peaking at 27°C in September.
