Reality TV personality Stephen Bear has been sentenced to 24 weeks in prison after admitting five counts of failing to comply with sex offender register notification requirements. The sentencing took place at Thames Magistrates' Court.
The court heard that Bear, 36, failed to inform authorities about a trip to Brazil last year. During this trip, he reportedly posted videos on social media from a beach, stating "the police will not be able to catch" him, and "bragging" about being in Brazil, according to prosecutor Maisa Mamman.
Bear also failed to notify police within three days of his return to the UK and did not declare that he had acquired a new passport and two bank cards during his travel. He was placed on the sex offenders register in 2023 for sharing a private sex tape.
This new sentence takes immediate effect. Bear is already in prison, having been jailed on Thursday for breaching a restraining order that prohibited him from posting online about his ex-partner, Georgia Harrison.
