North Wales Police have confirmed that a body discovered in a burning van in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, was an adult female. The confirmation follows a Home Office post-mortem examination.
Emergency services responded to reports of a van on fire on Gas Works Lane at about 23:30 BST on 4 October. Police are continuing a murder investigation.
A 38-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder, is still being questioned by police after an extension of custody was granted on Tuesday. Formal identification of the woman is yet to take place, and North Wales Police has urged the public not to speculate on her identity.
Det Ch Insp Zoie Dunkerley stated that officers would maintain a visible presence in the area due to local community concern and appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
