Closing statements are being made today in the Australian trial of British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, also known as Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos. He faces charges of rape, assault occasioning bodily harm, and choking a fan following a music performance two years ago.
Mr Barrientos, 30, has pleaded not guilty in the District Court of Western Australia to six charges of rape, three charges of assault, and one count of choking in a Perth hotel room in September 2024. The accuser was 20 at the time.
During his testimony on Monday, Mr Barrientos denied slapping or choking the woman, but he did agree to the allegation that he bit her multiple times. He also denied that the woman repeatedly told him to stop and that he was hurting her. Photos showing bruising and bite marks on the woman's face and neck were presented to the court.
The jury is anticipated to begin considering their verdicts on Wednesday, after defence and prosecution lawyers complete their closing statements.
